A pulse, not a prescription
Tempo is the number of beats in a minute. It gives a loop its walking pace, but a number alone does not tell you how a piece will feel. A slow bass line over quick percussion can feel both calm and alert. Start with what you hear instead of looking for a perfect setting.
Try three speeds
Choose Deep focus and Peaceful in the studio. Keep the other controls still and listen at 80, 100, and 120 BPM. Let each version loop twice before changing it. Notice whether your attention follows the percussion or settles into the longer notes. The useful setting is the one that suits the task in front of you.
Leave some quiet in the day
A soundtrack is an option, not an obligation. For reading a difficult passage, silence may work better than any melody. Keep volume comfortable, take listening breaks, and stop if the sound becomes distracting. Synth Lab is a creative experiment and makes no claims to improve health, sleep, or concentration.
Make one small change
Once you find a pace you like, move Pulse down for softer percussion or Dreaminess up for longer textures. Change one control at a time so you can connect what you hear with what you changed. Keep a favorite soundscape as a starting point, then make a new version for a different moment.
