THE SMALL PRINT, IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

Privacy policy

A clear account of what happens to your data when you use Synth Lab. This policy applies to the browser-only edition at isynthlab.me.

Last updated: October 24, 2026

1. Scope and operator

Synth Lab is an independent browser music experiment. This policy covers the website, its local melody studio, editorial pages, and saved preferences. It does not cover third-party websites reached through external links. The website operator is responsible for the deployed service and any hosting or advertising configuration. The About & contact page describes the available contact route.

2. Data you do not need to provide

You do not need to register, sign in, provide a name or email address, upload a recording, or supply payment details. We do not provide a user profile, messaging service, or cloud music library. Studio selections are processed locally and are not submitted to an AI provider. There is no microphone permission request or microphone recording.

3. Ordinary website delivery

When you load a page, the hosting and network providers necessarily receive connection information such as an IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser headers, and technical error information. They may retain security or access logs under their own operational settings. The static application itself does not maintain a visitor database, and this policy does not claim that a hosting provider keeps no logs. Actual hosting providers and their retention settings must be documented by the operator when hosting is selected.

4. Local preference storage

If preference storage is enabled, localStorage stores your language choice, saved soundscape identifiers, storage preference, and up to 24 composition recipes under keys beginning with synthlab:. A recipe contains a title, musical settings, a random seed, an engine version, a fingerprint, and a creation timestamp. It does not contain an audio recording. The values remain in that browser until you clear them, disable storage, clear browser data, or uninstall the browser. They are not synchronized between devices or sent to us. You may use the studio without saving these preferences. If browser storage is blocked, the current session continues without persistence.

5. Audio and generated stories

Audio is synthesized in browser memory. Temporary audio URLs and playback state are discarded when the page closes; the application revokes obsolete URLs during the session. Saved soundscapes are references to built-in presets, not stored recordings. Your own compositions are saved as reproducible recipes; audio is regenerated locally when opened. Copying a recipe link puts its settings and seed into the URL. A person opening that link, and the host serving it, can see those URL parameters. The custom title and story are not included in the link. Stories are assembled from authored fictional templates on the device. There is no server-side prompt history, recording archive, or training dataset collected by this edition.

6. Cookies, analytics, and advertising today

The supplied edition sets no application cookies and loads no advertising tags, behavioral analytics, tracking pixels, third-party fonts, or embedded social widgets. Core code, images, and the bundled audio library are served as site assets. The Privacy choices dialog controls local preferences only; it is not an advertising consent management platform. Browser or hosting infrastructure may operate outside this application and should be reviewed by the operator.

7. If advertising is introduced

Advertising is not enabled in this edition. Before adding Google AdSense or another ad service, the operator must update the disclosures to identify providers, purposes, data categories, retention, and available choices. Where required, obtain valid consent before nonessential storage or processing and provide a way to withdraw it. Google requires an appropriate certified consent management platform for relevant ad serving in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland. Ads must be visibly identified, separate from studio controls, and must never be a condition of playback or presented as download buttons. No advertising approval is promised.

8. Purposes and applicable legal bases

Connection data is used to deliver and protect the website. Preference values provide the convenience explicitly chosen in the browser. Where data protection law applies, the operator must identify the correct legal basis for its own hosting and optional processing, such as service delivery, legitimate security interests, or consent where required. This static edition does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Your choices and rights

Open Privacy choices in the footer to turn off preference storage or clear locally saved values. You may also use browser controls to clear site data. Depending on your location, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or complaint to a competent regulator. A request cannot retrieve a server-side melody history because no such history is held by the application. For hosting-log requests, use the contact route described on the About page; identity checks should be limited to what is necessary.

10. Retention and transfers

Local preference retention is controlled by your browser and your choices. Audio stays in page memory for the visit. Hosting logs follow the provider’s applicable retention policy and may be processed in the countries where its infrastructure operates. The operator should disclose its hosting arrangement and, where required, appropriate safeguards for international transfers before a public launch.

11. Children and sensitive information

The website is a general creative experiment and does not request age, sensitive information, or information about children. Do not submit personal information through external feedback channels unnecessarily. If you believe personal information about a child has been collected through a service connected to this site, contact the operator so that the actual processing can be reviewed.

12. Security, changes, and questions

No browser, device, or network can be guaranteed completely secure. Use an updated browser and trusted device. Material changes to this edition’s processing should be reflected here before the new processing starts, and additional notices or consent should be provided when required. The date at the top identifies the policy version. See About & contact for current support information and consult Google’s official policies for details of any future ad integration.

YOUR BROWSER, YOUR SPACE

Your space, your choices.

Synth Lab uses no advertising or analytics cookies. Your language, saved sounds, and composition recipes can stay on this device. Disabling or clearing preferences removes local favorites and recipes. Synthesis does not upload audio; a shared recipe link includes its musical settings.
